This delightful two bedroom apartment is the perfect self catering accommodation option for a family or couples sharing- two bedrooms (both en-suite) accompany a beautifully decorated space that sits right at the heart of De Waterkant, one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Cape Town. Leafy old trees shade cobbled streets lined by decorative houses that have all been recently rejuvenated.

Despite its position in one of the most exclusive and expensive areas in Cape Town, the Piazza remains happily relaxed- plush gardens surround airy unpretentious units and a pool allows visitors to enjoy a splash around after a busy day shopping or browsing the many wonders that the area has to offer. Although close to the Central Business District, and bordering on Green Point (a popular area for many restaurants, bars, clubs and offices and home to one of the 2010 World Cup stadiums), De Waterkant remains largely tranquil and The Piazza is lucky enough to be situated on a cul-de-sac.

The open plan kitchen is equipped with all the latest amenities and the living area has a large plasma screen TV with DSTV satellite if you wish to stay in contact with the rest of the world while you're enjoying your stay in the Mother City. A sweet furnished balcony looks out onto the picturesque neighbourhood and reminds visitors that they are positioned literally under Table Mountain's Signal Hill.

The Piazza is within easy walking distance of everything a city-lover expects to be entertained, plus a few added bonuses from one of the most beautiful cities in the world: The popular Victoria Alfred Waterfront (with world-class shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more) is only a few blocks away, while well-known Long Street and its cosmopolitan mix of tourists and inhabitants is an easy few minutes walk away. A five-minute drive will take you to the base of Table Mountain, while the beautiful beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton are only 10-minutes away. Continue in this direction and this incredible coastal drive will take you all the way to the exclusive beach neighbourhood of Llandudno, or further to the quaint fishing area of Hout Bay.

If you are here for business, the Cape Town International Conference Center is also within easy-walking distance, along with all the main businesses and hotels of South Africa. The Piazza is also in close proximity to all major roads- making it an easy-to-reach destination from the airport.

De Waterkant Accommodation, Cape Town

Cradled between the city and the V&A Waterfront, it is a cultural urban refuge highlighted by the abundance of restaurants, art galleries, gay clubs, salsa clubs, tapas bars and Parisian inspired cafes. Famed for being a gay friendly hub, the village is within walking distance of bars and fashionable nightspots. Drawing comparisons from cultural and artistic villages from all over the world, De Waterkant embraces individuality and theatricality, echoed in the architecture and vibrancy of its residents and visitors. Walking on the beautiful sidewalks, one cannot help but be caught up in its spell, cast by the beauty of the Dutch, Georgian and Asian influenced architecture, with flower boxes under the windows, sprawling balconies and rooftop decks providing exquisite views and majestic old trees that line the streets, filtering the sun selectively through their branches. This is a place that will tempt you into its fold and dare you to indulge and delight in life's finer pleasures. The Village of De Waterkant is essentially a business area during the day, where people live, work, lunch and shop, but by night it's alive with energy and offers some of the city's best restaurants, wine bars and delis. A walk along Wale Street towards the Bo-Kaap ('above town'), brings you to a neighbourhood that is said to hold the highest number of buildings dating back to before the year 1840, in South Africa, that miraculously managed to survive apartheid and the fate of other similar areas, like district six. From De Waterkant you can walk to the city centre; the V&A Waterfront and the Table Mountain cableway are a quick drive away; and the fashionable Atlantic beaches and trendy Atlantic Seaboard suburbs are close at hand to explore.

If you are arriving on the N1 and N2 towards Cape Town, the high way joins together and becomes the Nelson Mandela Boulevard at the Foreshore, continue towards The Waterfront. Continue straight at the first set of traffic lights onto Biutengracht Street (M62), the entrance to The Waterfront will be on your right. Turn right at the 4th set of traffic lights onto Strand Street and 4th street right into Vos Street. Follow the road left as it becomes Loader Street continue until De Smit Street, it will look like a T-Junction ahead. Piazza will be directly in front of you
